Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis:
As North America’s top professional team, the Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis has won the National Racing Calendar team title every year since 2004. Based in Oakland, CA, the team continued to perform at the top of the North American racing scene in 2007, while also finding success internationally, with its second consecutive overall victory at the Tour of Taiwan. In its pursuit of the overall title of the 2008 Tour de Georgia, the team will be led by 2007 NRC Individual Points Champion Rory Sutherland (AUS), who comes off a strong Amgen Tour of California, as well as new addition Phil Zajicek (USA). In last year's Tour de Georgia, the team placed two riders in the top 10 of the overall classification and won the King of the Mountains competition. Title sponsor Health Net of California is one of the country's leading health care organizations and Maxxis International produces high performance tires.
2008 Highlights: 2nd place stage finish Amgen Tour of California, wore Yellow and Green jerseys in the Tour of Taiwan, Top 3 finish Australian National Championships.
2007 Highlights: 31 National Racing Calendar victories, 5 UCI race victories, 63 total victories and 121 podium appearances overall, 1st overall in NRC team rankings.
